Okay so first off, the pizza party was AWESOME!! Thank you guys so much! Everyone loved it! They all told me to tell you thank you tons. Nothing better than American pizza (normal food, haha jk... kinda) at least compared to ctm food, and Guarana!! It was AMAZING! and the best of the week is probably how that turned into a service project! we ended up helping them move cookie dough from the back freezer to the truck on the other side of the busy street for the rest of Pday. It was actually pretty awesome! Other missionaries saw us and joined in. Soon we had enough missionaries that we made a line all the way from the freezer to the truck! People were amazed when they saw us! ha-ha It was really cool to be a part of that work. service, and experience.

People are always watching us. This is why is crucial to always remember who you represent, and who you really are. We are all sons and daughters of our Loving Heavenly Father.

I bought this really cool custom leather scripture case the other week! the guy will finish it by next week. I will have to take a pic for you guys. Oh and I got the Sargent family letter later that Pday! That worked out perfectly! I enjoyed them all tons!! loved the pics and happy to see all the letters inside. So worth the wait! Thank you!

Sunday we had a time change! We gained an hour! YIPIEEEEE! It was the first morning I didn't wake up exhausted. It was so nice. I know the next time change is not going to be quite as awesome. hah.

This week I had the opportunity to give two priesthood blessings. It is so amazing to be a part of the Lord's work. all I can say, is I don't remember what was said in the blessings, but people told me they were great. It wasn't me. the Holy Ghost worked through me, to give those blessings from God.
It is really neat to be an intrument in His hands though. I love this gospel. I know without a doubt it's true.

Glad you got the sound video of us singing! thought you would like it. Too bad they werent able to take a video video though.

Here is the Audio we recieved this week of missionaries including Jairus Singing

I leave March 4th! Can you believe that! We only have 1 week left! and I believe I will fly. I have no idea about the rules if i can call or not. I doubt it, but you never know. I'll keep my minutes open.. i mean ears!! haha sorry im thinking about the time cuz were so limited with time to email. only 45 min.  I believe we will have an hour in the field though! I sure hope so!

The food is alright. I guess I am sort of getting used to it. At least my mouth is... hahaha. This week  it was Japanese new year so we had Japanese food! It was pretty good! The change was nice. haha no, but there are some decent foods to eat here sometimes. the bananas for example are delicious and theres like 20 different kinds!

Well, its been a grat week! Ben staying super busy in the work! The days go by slow but the weeks fly! Love hearing from you guys! keep me posted. Love you all tons.

Elder Sargent

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!
So this week was great! of course I had the ups and downs but that’s normal. overall a great week! We watch this `the atonement and missionary work` video like every week because its super powerful and lifts our spirits up when our district is down. Plus it’s the only video we can find in English. but you guys should look it up! its way good.

So I’ve decided for sure (again) that besides temple and writing family, Sundays are the BEST! it’s the one day of the week we get to actually relax in a sense and spiritually prepare for the next week. I love the commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy. There’s a reason we have a day of rest!

Wednesday we took a public bus and got to proselyte, It was way awesome! We all handed out 3 Book of Mormons a piece! It was so exciting and miraculous that we were even able to talk to real Brazilians and get our message across and give them a book of Mormon. They are very receptive here!

The public bus (well just traffic and driving in general here) is CRAZY! I do not know if there are even rules. just cars and motorcycles flying everywhere and honking is the polite thing to do I think,  because everyone does it all the time! ha-ha pretty funny.

We also went to fed police station yesterday and finished visas stuff and they took all our thumb prints and stuff! hah pretty interesting. well I’m out of time again!! sorry! I love hearing from you guys! You keep me strong. Thanks again for everything and all your prayers and thoughts mean the world! Have a good week and a great Valentines day! LOVE YOU ALL.

 Until next Friday,

Love,

Elder Jairus Sargent

Nothing makes me happier than my Family and this Gospel

I LOVE hearing from you guys! Email is definitely my favorite part of the day along with the temple. Nothing makes me happier than my family and this gospel. I love you guys SO much! So I haven't received any letters in the mail yet but I will check after this email, Im sure they will come! Thank you so much for everything though, btw! It really means a lot.

We decided to Include some pictures of the Sao Paulo Brazil Temple, being he mentions how much he loves going. So Enjoy! Photo Credit to LDSChurchTemples.com

I dont think I would be able to do this without all your support and love. THANK YOU. Oh, I might try to send out a letter to you guys today just to see if it works. I know its pretty pricy though in general so I probably won't be able to send letters as much as I would like. Plus, time is so limited everyday! Haha, but I will try.

This week as flown by crazy fast!! Everyday seems SO long, but then p-day came right around the corner! The schedule is  nice because there is always something to look forward to. For example, p-day, or church on Sunday, and devotional on Tuesday. Those are my favorties so far. We had the Area 70 of Brazil come speak to us this Tuesday for devotional. He talked about what the field is really like after the  MTC and a lot about adam and eve, agency, and the plan of salvation. It was way good.

I forgot to tell you guys, the CTM lasts 6 weeks not 5 weeks. So i have what, 4 weeks left! I think, haha. It is  hard to keep track of time around here. Us guys, well Elders, found out that if we blow on our nametags holding the bottom with our hand it turns into a kazoo!! meaning a musical instrument! hahaha we play hymns all the time when we get stessed or what not lol. Our district does tons of singing! My throat is a little sore from all the singing  haha. but i love it! sometimes I wish the words were in english because then the song means more to me, but I can still feel the spirit when we sing.

The temple was awesome again today! as always! I love the temple because it reminds me of going  with the entire family! love that memory and experience.

The city is pretty cool. love all the little shops and stores. Reminds me of our vacation to mexico. Except there is graffitti on EVERY building here in Sao Paulo! Everywhere! haha what’s up with that. oh well the CTM is an awesome protected consecrated little bubble of safety. Santa Maria will be different. I’m excited for that. I’ll try to be more specific in my letter next week so for being vague this week!

I love hearing from all of you so much and getting pics! (oh p.s dad, jake if you have any mission pics worth seeing i would love to see em!) Sorry i cant attatch any pics until i get in the field. But I’ll make sure to send you lots when i can! Well nothing super exciting happened this week so sorry in advance! but the work is great! i love the gospel so much and to be able to be a representative of Jesus Christ is just amazing! Love you all tons!
